Hello, world!

So it’s been… yits ben… about two years. Here’s the meat of what’s new with the site and some goals.

site stuff

New theme! This is the biggest and most obvious thing. Don’t worry as a lottttt of stuff hasn’t moved (check the menu). It’s aesthetically the same, for the most part, but the engine underneath is now Hugo! which means…

Focus on blogging! Hugo is going to make it easier for me to update my site in the form of a blog. I hate the feeling of leaving my site abandoned like I do periodically, and I love writing, so I hope that this will get me more active. Speaking of activvve…

Goals… there are still a few pages that I just havent given any special attention to. As follows, these are the pages I wanna work on:

Music media. I would love to use discog’s API to spit out all my current records onto this page.

Ricky memorial. I still miss my puppy. I want to host a page with cute pictures of my boy.

Gizzy page. My pet lizard. She deserves a spot!

Mazes. A hobby of mine is drawing mazes – I wanna share that on my site!

life stuff

I got a new job! It’s with a large company in a narrow department. It’s cool. And it’s a contract with a high conversion rate to go full time. Yay!

I moved! I’m in a new state! It’s lovely. I’m still in the southern US, and I don’t think I could ever really leave it. Sometimes I wonder about going to Canada or something but I could never abandon the food here. My fatass.

New fixations. I don’t know, is this really important? I’ve gotten really into Nirvanna the Band. And sticker collecting and journaling.

Okay. I think I’m good. Bye.

Supa easy dinnar.
INGREDIENTS
Potato(s)
Salt
Oil
Butter
Bacon bits
Sour cream
OPTIONAL: whatever else you want to dress your tater in

Preheat airfryer to 350F for 10 minutes. During this time, you can prep your potatoes. Stab them with a fork so they get a bunch of holes, and then coat them with a layer of oil.

After potatoes are prepped, throw them in the airfryer for 30 min. After that, flip them, then run another 30 minutes.

Simple Bread Recipe

the recipe calls for measuring in grams which is better, but if you don’t have a way to measure grams right now i’ll write the typical cups / tablespoons / etc etc. Baking terms. You know. This will be baked in a loaf pan, but diane’s recipe gives option for baking in a pot as well! NOTE: makes TWO loaves
Ingredients

660g / 5.25 cups of flour
350g / 1.5 cups of water
27g / 3~ tbsp yeast, fresh yeast, or 1 packet
15g / 1 tbsp salt
33g / 2.25 tbsp oil
OPTIONAL: egg (for egg wash)
OPTIONAL: cornmeal to line the baking pan

Mix all ingredients in the bowl. If you have a mixer, beat it with the dough hook for 6~ minutes. Then, take it out and knead for another 6~ minutes by hand. If you don’t have a mixer then simply knead by hand. :)

Sydneys Omelette

This recipe is based on the omelette made by Sydney in the show The Bear! :) Make it with whatever you want inside its an omelette dude. In the show, she uses boursin cheese, chopped chives, and sour cream and onion chips to garnish. I make it like this and its VERY good.

3 large eggs
Butter
Salt
Pepper (to taste)

PREHEAT YOUR PAN! Medium high heat.

Beat your three eggs until they’re combined. OPTIONALLY, you can strain your eggs. This removes all the solids from the eggs and makes the omelette smoother, if you’re hungry now just skip it. I’ve also seen people say to leave out your egg slurry out until it’s orange instead of yellow but idk.

Hey gay! First off I want to prove that I’m not just sitting on my ass and am actually working on this site. Sooooo here’s stuff :~)

Dream Corp LLC

OMGEEZY a new shrine in progress! Dream Corp LLC is one of my favorite shows ever, and I’ve been meaning to do a kind of playful early web interface based on the aesthetics of the series. It’s about a sleep lab that enters your dreams to solve your issues, like your soft dick or daddy issues or rashes. Apparently the showrunners beat me to the idea but whatevs. I looked at a few web archives and found a lot of these halftone pixel gradients and I was able to replicate it with Aseprite :)

Gooood new year everypony. Just wanted to do a little check in :)

Soooo I wanted to make a few life changes i.e. GTFOff my phone first thing in the morning. So I’ve been putting my phone halfway across the room so I have to walk to turn off my alarm. I also keep my phone in black and white mode now unless needed, and deleted doomscroll-y apps (Tumblr, Twitter, Instagram…). Unfortunately this means I’ve been scrolling on like weird apps that I barely touch including…dating apps BLEHHHHH!!! Just to have something to do. I’ll get better don’t worry. I’ve also put a journal by my bed and a big ass book (House of Leaves) to encourage myself to do something to wind down before bed. RELATED but I want to hang out with my friends more, I went into the city last weekend and did a museum and breakfast for dinner w a buddy. I love her a lot! <3

First, check the official mount information for Neocities. If you’re on MacOS, or Linux there’s straightforward directions for you :) If you’re on Windows, it just says to download Cyberduck or Mountain Duck. If you’re like me you need like. Way more direction than that lol so here’s what I do.

First, download Cyberduck here.

Connecting your Site

Once it’s downloaded, open Cyberduck and click “Open Connection”. Use the following settings.

Long time no see guyz :p Sooo lets see.

I’m still working the IT job, and it’s been cool. They do this thing where if you pass certification tests they’ll cover costs. Which is awesome but I’m woefully bad at studying so we’ll just funkin see lol… also in the way of My Job, I went to my first bootcamp and it was awesome!!! I learned about Nutanix + using Prism which is a really cool tool for managing VMs and shit. It’s really easy to use so I was like YAYYYY and then they gave us bagels AND sandwiches which also probably swayed my opinion on the whole thing. But also I paid 2 dollars in the lobby cafe for hot water and two packets of hot chocolate. Which is fucked. Also paid $25 for parking. WHAT THE FUCK!!!! Anyways it was cool. I’m probably going to go for a Nutanix cert and also an NSE cert this coming year.

Hooray! Going to try to keep a regular blog on this site. Sooo lets see.

da life…

Obviously popping.

I’m working an IT help desk job and it’s been fun but difficult. I think I’m going to become a sysadmin, and I’m going for my CCNA soon if I can focus enough to study. I graduated this past summer, and my commencement ceremony is in December! I guess the only poop part is dealing with family stuff but I can deal for a little while longer. I had a difficult time being a person a few months ago but I feel like focusing on this I enjoy, like webdev, is helpful. I hope I can get myself in a comfortable position to move out within the next two years or so… I think I’d enjoy a townhouse or something small. Student loans are kicking ass. Oh and my birthday is this month! I wonder what I’ll do :~)

The Bible 2: Sacrilegious or Saintly?

Andrew Jackson Jihad. The name alone is enough to put you on the no-fly list, which is probably why they’ve elected to change their brand to the more friendly “AJJ”. They are a Phoenix based folk punk band, headed by singer/guitarist Sean Bonnette and Bassist Ben Gallaty. This ever-evolving group has a seemingly constant rotation of members, making for a unique sound every album. Their most recent release, The Bible 2, is no different. It tackles morality, social confusion, and dread, among other neurotic topics.
