- the conscience of a hacker - Also known as The Hacker Manifesto. This is an essay written by The Mentor, a computer security hacker, in 1986. Written after his arrest, it discusses the ethical basis on which hacking is founded on, and reasons that hacking is meant for good rather than harm.
